What's for Supper???

I bought some lovely peppers and Vidalia onions at the market. I found this recipe that I am going to try tonight. It sounds exactly like something my dearest will love! I think I will serve it on poppy seed buns with a roasted new potato salad and fresh fruit on the side.

Italian Sausage Sandwiches
1 lbs. ground sweet Italian sausage
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 green peppers, sliced & seeded
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 c. red burgundy wine
1 can diced tomatoes
1 c. grated cheese (Romano or Parmesan)

Brown and remove from skillet. Add peppers to same skillet (do not rinse), stir quickly as peppers stick. After 3 minutes, add onions and mushrooms. Saute until onions are transparent. Add red wine, scraping pan as you stir. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste, add cheese and stir before serving. Place in a large bowl and top with a little extra grated cheese. Serve with Italian bread or as a sandwich on sub buns.

I just came over to see what you've been up to, Martha, and lookee what you've been doing! Cooking and painting! And flattering me. I'm going to have to stop using blush because you just made me blush without the brush and powder!

Your topiary is SO special!!

I'm thinking that you cook with the same colors that you paint with! ;-) Bet that dinner was delicious!

I'm going to be doing a Pass-It-Forward Give-Away soon. I'm mulling over the "rules" but know that I want to do it for my "regulars" who brighten my day so often as a token of appreciation.
You're one of them! So please remember to stop by again to see when I'm ready to post about it.

Hugs, friend!
Diane

I love ripe bell peppers! They are so sweet and flavorful. I like to saute them for just a few minutes. This recipe sounds good! Let us know how it turns out!

May I please offer my sincere apology for my failure to thank you for following my blog? I noticed an empty spot in my followers list today, and I was saddened to find your picture gone.

I am so very sorry for my negligence. I'm afraid I do not get around to all as I need to do. So, please forgive me, and I do so want to invite you back, if you desire.

I see you live in Tuscaloosa. I live in Huntsville. I would hate to lose the opportunity of getting to know you. You have a very beautiful blog, and I see we have much in common.

May God bless and keep you today.

In Sincerity and With Christ's Love,

Andrea

Andrea, I don't have a clue why I am no longer in your followers.... I just popped over to your blog and sure enough I am MIA. I tried to "rejoin" but had no luck. I will keep trying....

Martha, thank you for writing me back so quickly. I was so afraid I had offended you, and I'm very sorry for the confusion.

I hope that the problem resolves soon. Regardless, I look forward to getting to know you better and learning about your faith, farm-style cottage, and fairy tale life.

Take care, and God bless.

In Christ's Love,

Andrea

Martha, that was so cute - your comment about me being the new Heloise of Blogland! :-)

Re: the fold-out ironing board. I used to have one too and it was really convenient. It was in an old house we lived in and someone did the right thing when they built it in. But there aren't any covers that fit those. You're right. I usually just made my own too.

I priced them because I'd love one in my laundry room but they're expensive!! So I make do with a regular stand-up one there. My sewing area - not enough floor space so my new counter one is perfect - plus Hubby made it a rectangle rather than tapered and that gives me more surface for ironing craft projects!

Happy painting today!
Diane
