A Little Thank-You Gift for Marilyn at Our Victorian Cottage

Marilyn at "Our Victorian Cottage" has got to be one of the sweetest people on the planet. She always writes the nicest things on her blog and her comments to other folks are just grand. I won her May give away and I wanted to find a special way to thank her. I have been reading about how dear her husband is to her and how they are working together to make their darling cottage even more magical than it already is. When I saw this precious old framed card at my favorite little antique store today, I knew it was just the ticket! I am sending it off to her tomorrow. I hope she can find a place to tuck it away in her charming home.

Ahhh...aren't you just the sweetest thing? I'm sure she'll love it.

I actually sing that song to my husband allll the time....Now, I am soooo musically challenged....and sing it just like Edith Bunker...but it always makes him laugh.

Blessings,
Spencer

What a fabulous treasure! A little history: The song "I Love You Truly" was written by Carrie Jacobs Bond who wrote many more beautiful songs such as "Just A Weary-ing For You" and "The End of a Perfect Day." Carrie Jacobs Bond was an amazing woman who actually lived for a time in my home town of Iron River, Michigan. There her young doctor husband slipped on the ice and passed away shortly after. She had a young son and went on to move to Chicago and become a famous composer.

(My mother sang publicly the songs of Carrie Jacobs Bond and I accompanied her on the piano. You can guess that your post today brought back wonderful memories for me! Thank you so much!)
